  • Port Orford is located in Curry County which is the southern most coastal county in Oregon.  Port Orford has spectacular views of the ocean. Fishing boats can't be moored in the harbor because it is unprotected from southerly winds.  To the south of Port Orford is Mount Humbug which rises out of the Pacific Ocean.

Plants like flowers and grass reflect more infrared light and appear brighter in infrared images while the sky reflects less making it darker.

  • McWay Falls is in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park in Monterey County, California near the town of Big Sur on the state's Central Coast. McWay Creek drops 80 ft. off a cliff onto the beach in an small cove along the Pacific Ocean. A trail in the park leads to an overlook where the cove and waterfall can be seen from above.   Access to the cove is restricted due to environmental concerns about the crumbly cliffs.  This stunning waterfall is well know for as it makes one feel like they have reached a beach in paradise with a waterfall gracefully dropping to the beach below.

  • The Pacific Coast Highway closely follows the coast in central California.  The coast contains many amazing cliffs and coves.  The Bixby Bridge is in the distance.  It was completed in 1932 and is a marvel of engineering. The bridge spans across a large canyon along the Big Sur Coastline, about 18 miles south of Carmel.

  • The Coquille River Lighthouse is located in Bandon, Oregon. The lighthouse was designed by Carl Leick and commissioned in 1896. Its light guided mariners to find the dangerous bar at the mouth of the Coquille River. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1939 after improvements to the river channel were completed. It is currently a part of the Bullards Beach State Park and maintained  by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.

  • At the mouth of the Umpqua River and the entrance to Winchester Bay, stands the Umpqua Lighthouse casting red and white beams of light out to sea. The lighthouse stand 65-foot all and is situated on a hill 100 feet above sea level surrounded by US Coast Guard buildings and a Museum...Construction on the current lighthouse was started in 1890 and was illuminated in 1894.

  • Heceta Head Light is a lighthouse located on the Oregon Coast 13 miles north of Florence, Oregon and 13 miles south of Yachats, Oregon, United States. It is located midway up a 205-foot (63 m) tall headland. Built in 1894, the 56-foot (17 m) tall lighthouse shines a beam visible for 21 miles, making it the strongest light on the Oregon Coast
