Dog Lake in Yosemite National Park in Color Infrared

Near Tuolumne Meadows, Dog Lake is a small lake surrounded by woods rather than granite hills. Neaby the lake is Lembert Dome which overlooks the meadows and the Tuolumne River. The treeless granite dome has a sheer west face, 300 feet high, that becomes less steep on the other three sides. It is a popular destination for hiking which brings many people also to Dog Lake...This is a digital combination of an infrared image and a visible color image. The color picture is used to colorize the infrared image giving a foreign and new perspective. Plants and trees reflect more infrared light and appear brighter in images while the sky reflects less making it darker.
